There tech support told me I would not need a charge controller due to the low amperage. This is for charging a 12V battery while camping.

    Depending on the size of the battery you may not need a charge controller. Given a small battery, however, 2 Amps can be a lot of current. Another factor is how much power is being drawn out while the panel is trying to put power in. In that sense it may not be enough. But if you're going to use it to recharge a 100 Amp hour battery during the day so you have electric at night, it is probably not a worry.

    Unless the words "harbour" and "freight" are connected with the panel. :roll:

    even if going to a 100ah battery that approximate 2a could eventually overcharge even that battery. play it safe with a small cheap cc. this will allow less maintenance too as less water would need to be added and would allow a good absorb charge.

    also note that only one blocking diode would normally be needed in a direct connection. i am a bit confused by your stating they are blocking diode cables. does that mean they premount a diode inside a cable run?
