For those of you familiar with the Xantrex XW6048...

Is the small control panel on the XW6048 capable of changing the settings, or is a remote controller needed (like the Mate for the Outback inverters)?

Can the XW6048 be set up to work like a UPS and not be grid interactive?

Does the XW6048 need to be mounted vertical, or is it possible to lay it on a surface horizontal?

On that last one, I'd suspect that the cooling air flow might be affected by the orientation, but just thought I'd ask those of you that are more familiar with the XW6048.

    You will need the SCP to configure the system.

    Can the XW6048 be set up to work like a UPS and not be grid interactive?

    Yes, turn sell mode off.

    Does the XW6048 need to be mounted vertical, or is it possible to lay it on a surface horizontal?

    It is convection cooled and needs to be vertical, the air intake is at the bottom and the outlet is on the top.
