what to do with single Yingli 235?

Have access to a single Yingli 235. Wondering to what use it might be put around the house. Open to suggestions (other than 'buy 13 more'...).

    Hang on the wall as modern art, ping-pong practice backboard, coffee table, doorstop, paperweight, block the bottom of a doorway to keep toddlers or pets contained.

    OH...almost forgot...charge a battery! :D

    If this is the right panel ratings:

    Peak Power (Pmpp) 235 W
    Peak Power Voltage (Vmpp) 29.5 V
    Peak Power Current (Impp) 7.97 A
    Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) 37 V
    Short Circuit Current: 8.54 A

    Then you can only charge a 12 volt battery reliably and you would need a 15-30 amp MPPT charge controller for efficient panel to battery voltage conversion.

    If you use the 0.05 to 0.13 charging rate for the battery bank:
    • 235 watts * 0.77 derating * 1/14.5 volts * 1/0.05 minimum charging rate = 250 Amp*Hour 12 volt battery maximum
    • 235 watts * 0.77 derating * 1/14.5 volts * 1/0.13 maximum charging rate = 96 Amp*Hour 12 volt battery minimum

    if you want to you can get a small gt inverter like an enphase to feed that power back to the grid and lower your power used and your bill by that small amount.

    Sell it to someone else that doesnt know any better than to have (1) 235 w panel...or get a micro inverter and pay proportionally large permit fees to actually hook it up to your home Ac and have a 30 year payback period. This payback period assumes local electric rebates and shooting from the hip. The short of it is go big or go home...Permits are too expensive to grid tie one panel.
