New solar radiation database

A new community solar site has been launched: www.opensolardb.org, a solar radiation data database open for everybody, for adding data and for extracting data.

    Thanks for this link. After calling the NREL about their database I found it does not have as many data points as I expected. Google should really be tackling this. A better database will allow beter estimates of what a PV system will product averaged over 10 years. This years summer rain and clouds reduced PV production a lot. I would love to see a database that included this varibility, you know a standard deviation of yearly production....

    Nasa data are based on satellite measurements, not on ground measurements and therefore are quite inaccurate. See http://eosweb.larc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/sse/sse.cgi?rets@nrcan.gc.ca and follow the accuracy link
