Dumb Question of the day

Still working on the planning wiring schematics etc.
So stupid Q of the day:
3 arrays DO NOT TIE TOGETHER before their respective charge controller correct.

Reason: I saw a schematic of 6 arrays all tied to a common buss +/-, with 6 charge controllers wired in parallel. Just doesn't seem right.
Each controller was protected with input and output breakers though.
In this case if one controller or breaker stopped functioning, the others would also trip out or over amp correct?

Please fill me in
Thanks
Ken

    not so stupid a question.
you are correct if you mean that any pv or strings of pvs should not be tied to more than 1 controller. now that does not mean that pvs or strings of pvs can't be paralleled up to the controller current rating. they just can't be connected to more than 1 controller, aka shared.
