Wind speed survey

The theme seems to be all too familiar. Too little wind one day and too much another. Won't start in at low wind, has to cut out at high wind.

I would like to know what those of you who have been fooling with WT's see in wind speeds on an average day. Even those of you who have "boat anchors" atop your towers.

Additionally, what are the max wind gusts you see.

Would a fairly steady 1-2A trickle charge in low wind be of any value to you vs. seeing your turbine do nothing for the bulk of the day.
