Generator Assist / Grid assist

I am considering a system for a client that needs more power than his grid connection can supply. Overall, taken in a 24 hour cycle/ the grid has enough potential power, but not enough to supply the peak demands of pumps etc.

The solution I am considering is 3 x SMA Sunny Islands 5048 (1 per phase as it’s a 3 phase system) set up in a generator / grid assist mode with a suitable sized backup battery bank.

The thinking being that the grid will maintain the battery charge during times of low demand, and during peak demands the inverters will supplement the grid.

Has anyone got any experience of this type of installation?
