battery backup costs eligible for tax credit

Hi, I'm new here; currently in the planning stages for a grid-tie with battery backup.

IRS provides tax credit = to 30% of install cost for renewable energy system.

Are the batteries, charge controller, and other components of the battery backup system eligible for this tax credit?

Or is it restricted to only the array and inverter and grid-tie components?

Thanks.

    Google up "IRS form 5695"

From what I can tell it says nothing about being gird tied or whether batteries would be excluded from a system.
