hi guys i was wondering if i connect 4 solar panels togeather to a junction box then run run a single lead to the charge controller does that mean i have inadvertently just wired in series to create a 96 volt system thanks michael

Depends on whether you connect them (+) to (-), which would be series, or (+) to (+) and (-) to (-) which would be parallel. -

Plus to plus to plus etc= parallel wiring, doubling the current (amperage) while keeping the voltage the same
Plus to minus to plus ect= series wiring doubling the voltage while keeping the current the same.
At the end of the string, the available power is the same however (not counting wiring loses)
