...is 10,459 GW installed capacity at 30% capacity factor, covering 26.89% of the 48 state area. For comparison, current U.S. electrical generation capacity is 850 GW at 53% capacity factor, or 450 GW continuous annual average.
As of end 2009 U.S. got 35 GW of wind installed. That's 0.33% of available land area.
