Interesting... Hadn't heard of one specifically for energy conservation, but a Google search shows there is in fact one for "Energy Conservation Day". A few pages says it's 14 December, but there are a also a few articles about schools holding Energy Conservation Days on 25 September.

My first thought was Earth Day, which is held on 22 April. Geared more toward ecological issues, but they have recently made a big deal of having "lights out" parties at dusk.
