Friend Function

Ive noticed that niel and BB have a friend each on this forum in there profile others probably have ??? What is a friend ? As Icarus, Halfcrazy Mike 90008556667 boB, Robin, the bloke who never treats a horse badly sos can remember your name, the boss, NAWS, SG Crewzer and many others talk sense so what is the friend function for ?

Honestly, I am not sure what it does... All I have seen is a little "+" sign next to the friend's name when I see who is online.

it really doesn't serve much of a function here, but it might serve well for some of the dating forums or other social forums. i tried doing a group too to see what it was about and i thought it to be lame and i let it drop.

The Group Function was half disabled earlier when it appeared during an BBS upgrade (I am guessing).

There was just enough there that new users sometimes started posting there instead of the main forum.

And at that time, there was no good moderation tools (for Niel and I) and it was a good back door for spam.... I showed our Admin some of what was getting posted and he disabled/cleaned out the posting function.

I don't think there is any usable function to the Group Lists at this time.

Part of that was disabled because spammers were making "friends" and then sending spam to them, which they could do without being a verified user.

well, if you post something here it is indicated to the left as something new here even if it's nonsense as this seems to be. don't forget guests and bots hit upon subject matter too.
