Xantrex SW4024 charging issue

I've been upgrading my 20 year old system to incorporate better generator integration. New generator (Champion Home backup 8.5kw) but 240V so in an attempt to maximize output I've added a Meanwell NPB-1700 on the phase that is not being used by the xantrex. The problem that I'm running into is that despite having my charging amps on the xantrex at 27 amps AC, I'm not getting any more that 50 amps at the battery. Anything over 50 is being provided by solar. To make matters more confusing, as soon as I turn on the Meanwell, the generator goes off line from the Xantrex. Has anyone attempted a similar setup and if so any insights.

Looks like your Xantrex and Meanwell aren’t syncing well. It could be a phase or neutral issue, or the Xantrex isn’t handling the extra input. Some folks stagger chargers or use separate phases. Definitely check Xantrex settings and maybe reach out to their support, they’ve seen setups like this before.

I always bet that it is from the generator. Try another.

Finally got both units charging the batteries but the SW4024 is not using all the amperage from the generator. Despite input amps being set to 27 amps, I'm only getting 15 amps worth of charging and I should have 34 amps available to me from the generator. Is anyone aware of a way to test the capacity of the charger module of the SW4024?

When charging from the generator The inverter is turning AC power into DC power So consequently your batteries are not providing any load support and your generator must cover the load as well as charge your batteries. If you turn all of your loads off you'll probably get maximum charging
