Best surface water pump for irrigation?

Hello--I pump water out of a brook on my property to irrigate a vegetable garden and some small crops. Been using a nice cordless pump but need a higher flow and a more permanent and convenient setup. Doing research online currently but would love some opinions from users here, especially if you're experienced with this type of situation.
The brook is about 400 feet from the garden/water storage/house. Elevation rise is about 20 feet. Currently pumping just 2.3 gpm, would like to do 5-10gpm.
Main goal is to pump water from brook to fill storage tanks. Although we have a grid-tied solar system with battery backup, I'm not sure it's practical to try and run a branch circuit that far, so am thinking the pump would have its own solar panel, controller and battery.
Any tips or suggestions? Red flags to watch for?
Thank you.
