hacve a Magnum 4400PAE 48volt inverter /charger
have been looking ti get an inverter with more capacity
i have a deep well 240 volt well pump and the Magnum handles ther well pump and other appliance
the Magnum is a Transformer based unit and have handled my requirements for the last 6 years
i gueess my question is that should i focus on another Transformer based unit or do you think the many of cookie cutter systems being advertized will do the job for me

thanks

    How is your battery bank?

A small/older/failing battery bank can limit the output power of an AC inverter.

Do you have enough solar panels (and backup charging sources) available to keep your battery bank "happy"?

One of the reasons the inverter outputs are up there with the non transformer based inverters is they do not have the surge ability that XFMR based do. The other reason is they have pretty lousy split phase balance. They often can't power a large 120 load unless they are above 10 KW. Some at 18KW have problems. Split phase is a challenge. The XW's I use can run full 8.5KW loads on 120vac without issues on a 120/240 output. Surge well over 12KW.

Many of these chicom inverters are not going to be around in 3 years, I think!
In the store here I see this below, give them a call and see what they say!  Cheers! 😉😎
