Cerbo GX install Compatibility

Hello

I have just installed (5) V5 Pytes Batteries to replace my current AGM batteries. I have Schneider Conext XM+ inverters, Midnite Chargers and Schneider Combox, AGS & Battery monitor. Since the Schneider battery monitor does not work well with the lithium batteries I am looking to upgrade to a Cerbo GX but not sure of the compatibility with the inverter.

Any input would be great.

To answer your specific question about a battery monitor, there is a WIFI Dongle for the Pytes V5 that might work for your. It is documented on the PytesUSA website and should be available at vendors soon.

I do not have a Schneider Inverter but I have a SolArk 12K and understand the Pytes is capable of closed communication with the SolArk and many others. I found that the Pytes documentation was pretty good and the V5 batteries have UL 9450 certifications which is what I need to get that part of my system permited in California. ebsite

Curious why the OP thinks the victron bat mon would be any better than the schneider bat mon in an open loop  battery BMS?

I am just going by comments I have seen. If I am wrong about the battery monitor that would be great. I just need to get some sun to get them up to 100% so I can synchronize.

While installing these batteries and changing settings for the Pytes with Schneider Inverters provided be my contact at NAZ I am a little confused as to my the programming sheet says to use “Custom” & not “Lithium” settings.

    Thanks for the input.

A battery monitor by most any good company and it's shunt are just extra unneeded electronics in a closed loop LFP battery system !

The bat mon for you is also a time investment as you will need to calibrate or verify its accuracy from time to time. You need to cal against the battery you own and use the Schneider manual.  You would have to do this with any external Bat mon for open loop.

I looked and Pytes is not on the list of 8 battery makes that Schneider supports. Maybe they will be? It is all up to Pytes for that BTW. Schneider has provided the means to get into  (RS485) the XW system. For now you are open loop.

NAZ is refering the custom menu for open loop over lithium choice because the Lithium menu is far enough off, that you can't use it for your battery.
Your MPPT's are not in the xanbus network and they will need data from Pytes.  Good Luck !
