Tesla, but why?

Placed an order for a Model Y Dual Motor Long Range on December 6th. Still in the research phase too. Always seem to find myself endlessly second guessing my purchasing decisions. I know if an EV is what you're after, most likely, you "can't go wrong" with a Tesla but I've gotta say the competition is really stiff. Boat loads of choices out there. Not a lot of wrong decisions if you are searching for an all electric vehicle just lots of variety. The selection is great. Do you like lots of dash buttons? You got it! Lots of cargo space? Check! Two wheel drive, all wheel drive....steering wheel drive....pilotless...whew! Quite exhausting to be honest.

For me, the man, Elon Musk, is worthy of support and admiration. His contributions to our species is vast. He has advanced technology in areas that were once thought to be unobtainium. He is a good citizen that respects our nation as well as the world. His priorities are well aligned and he is constantly pushing boundaries. Tesla is the reason EV's are as large of a thing as they are today.

Six months in to the present administration the White House held a summit for all EV manufacturers. Tesla wasn't invited. Instead, GM was hailed to be the world leading innovators by the White House. This at a time when Tesla had produced hundreds of thousands of EV's and GM had only produced....26. Why was the White House afraid of Musk? Big reason for the purchase here.

Tesla Supercharger stations are all around. I believe the count is 1800 nationally. I will usually charge at home but that's a nice perk to have. I wait patiently for BB to devise a vehicle mounted solar charge system for it without blocking the view from the glass roof. Before we get to Mars would be preferred.

The reasons above were enough to tip the scale in favor of the Model Y even though it looks like a stretched VW Beetle...lol

Runners-up were the Cadillac Lyriq and Kia EV6 and Lucid and a couple more (gasp). On second thought, that Caddy looks good....hmmm....I do need to stop now.

Still keeping my F-350 Dually though just so I can get a bumper sticker that says it is my other vehicle..

The Administration  figured out who had the charging stations, now they invite Elon.

So you going to set-up a 200A 50KW charger soon?
