Trace 5548 does not "cool" down the 120v generator before turning it off.

Two questions:
1) Trace 5548 does not "cool" down the 120v generator before turning it off. Is this a setting I have missed?
2) Sometimes, the generator is on for 10 minutes and sometimes for 60 or 90 minutes. Is there anyone who can help me with finetuning the settings?
