i have several off grid inverters 1 is 230 vac and I need to convert to split phase 120/240 vac. I need to run 2 hp well pump 240 vac 300' draw

SingJack,Do you need to convert to 120/240 VAC split phase for well pump?Most 240 VAC motors (single phase) only need 2 hots (L1,L2) to run the motors...You may need 120 VAC to run pump "electrics" (relay, water level sensor, etc.) which could (possibly) use a simple 240 to 120 VAC transformer.I would try to avoid a 230 VAC L1/L2 to a split phase 240 VAC (L1/L2/N) transformer. An isolation transformer that large will be expensive and can waste power (plus need a lot of "magnetization" / start up current (hard on AC inverter).-BillNear San Francisco California: 3.5kWatt Grid Tied Solar power system+small backup genset
