Load balancing with XW

Hi all,
Config: 10Kw pannels, 2 x MPPT 80 600, 1 x XW8548, 24Kw of NiFe, All off grid.

All works well, despite the irritating quirks of Schneider's software.
We're buying a new car, it has to be electric, so need to basically double our capacity. Upgrade and not replace 'cause the system is only 7yo.

Not keen on NiFe (I would in a flash if I could find some with a watering system), or XW.

Question: what can you gurus recommend for an inverter in the 5-8Kw range that would load balance nicely with our existing XW?
The objective is to make sure that the two battery banks get discharged evenly.

Thanks !

Yes, of course. Not opposed to it, the HW is good, it's just the support does not exist, and the SW is really quirky. Having said that it's the obvious option, but I'd still be interested if anything else could work.

Can two XW connected to two battery banks effectively manage to keep an even SOC on both banks?

The new battery bank will be Li, and the new XW might not be a 85, I might not need that much power.

Would it work with two XW?

    General advice given.

If you do the legwork or maybe someone else can help it is all possible. I am swamped and in business for people who do not have the time or want to avoid the mistakes. I spend a few hundred hours a year in continuing education with Schneider. It is all I use now.

    Good Luck!

Hi @Dave Angelini and everyone, hitting a bit of a brick wall. Schneider call center is telling me that I have to replace my five year old XW+ 8548 with an XW Pro, since XW+ is discontinued and the XW+ and XW Pro cannot be together in a multi unit system.

I find that a bit strange that there would be no backwards comptibility or upgrade path, but I can't get a straight answer whether it's a firmware upgrade to the XW+ or a hardware incompatibility...
    Help please?!

Not enough memory in XW+ to play with XW pro.

Schneider is telling you that right so you have to move on with XWP or find a used XW+.

I need a 12 year old ROKU for my streaming player, if you see one ;)

Been full time in Baja for almost three years now.  In the middle of a media room addition.at the moment. Dug my old Kenwood KR 8050 receiver out of mothballs to help augment the Home Theatre. Looking for a set of monster speakers to run with it.
The Roku is yours for free if you want it.

I have an old Roku remote (works as far as I know) what has A/B game controller buttons (no pre-programmed channels)--If you wish.

Also... With a smart phone and the free Roku App (at least the Android version)... I can play the audio on my smart phone (through audio jacks or through Bluetooth) as well as the regular remote functions. The App does not seem to drain the phone battery that much (don't need to keep the phone on a charger with normal usage).

Android is me so I will try that Bill.  And the Roku headphone jack does really drain the battery but it is convenient to not wake the sleepers. so this is a win win !!!

Big Thank-you!  Either of you guy's up on the Nevada side, come catch a classic rock show ! Spring is coming.

Other thing I have done... Replace the Alkaline (alka-leak from Costco or Duracell) batteries with Eneloop or similar low self discharge NiMH batteries.

Any of the devices that AA/AAA batteries sit in for long periods (scales, remotes, flashlights, etc.) that are not quickly drained and replaced, or stored without batteries end up leaking and corroding the contacts (at least) of the device.

I have only one or two Eneloops ever leak, and when they did, it did not corrode the contacts. A "win" all the way around.

I have watched Netflix and Amazon Prime on my Android phone (Samsung S9 on T Mobile with unlimited data--Finally).

Otherwise, I just use Roku Android App and it works like a remote control, and allows audio to be played through the phone (jack, bluetooth, etc.). I have not tried the App on older versions of Roku (had an old Roku, but stopped using because it simply did not have enough memory to run with today's software/programming).

Besides Netflix, I have tried some of the second and third tier channels on App/Phone Audio, and did not have any issues--That I recall.

If you are having issues/questions, I can try on my TVs (have one running Roku Box and other TV with Roku built in).

Thanks Bill,  We have a spectrum cable modem and the wifi is more than both of us can use. Have not even tried going direct. I just need to do what you are doing with the remote android app. Running a galaxy A21.

My Roku has a mem stick that fixed the problem of low mem. It is just the headphone jack on the remote. A new remote might fix it but I will try your droid app.

Definitely do not want the headphone sound going to the big speaks without me knowing it. Last time it happened I had something thrown at me.....Have a good weekend!
