Thermal Runaway Risk

After installing my new system with my Fortress eFlex lithium battery bank located in my garage I have read a couple articles cautioning about that location. I live in the Rocky Mountains so winter is cold thus I decided on a heated battery box in the garage.

A recent read stated never park an EV or locate a lithium battery bank in something you do not wish to destroy.

Certainly do not wish to destroy my garage/house, so how real is this risk, or are these cautionary articles a bit over inflated.

You should inform your insurance company if you carry home insurance. If this was done by a pro you should have documentation.

The Fortress is a good American design team LFP battery. You made a good choice! It is fairly safe but there are always precautions with a battery near a home.

The batteries that are probably being referred to are the lithium electric car type batteries that are cobalt based or type NMC.
