Remote meter MT 50 settings

Hi, just installed one and have two batteries connected together but only one lead to the meter. Do I need to alter any parameters to allow for two leisure batteries?

    Two batteries connected together (more or less) looks like one big battery...

    Say you have 2x 12 volt @ 100 AH batteries.
    • Two in parallel--12 volts @ 200 AH bank (in parallel AH capacity adds)
    • Two in series--24 volts @ 100 AH bank (in series, voltage adds)
    The energy stored in each above--Is the same... 2x voltage = 2x the energy in each battery. 2x the AH =o 2x the energy in each battery... The same.

    Power = Voltage * Current
    Energy = Voltage * Current * Hours (time)

    Do you have any settings in your meter for battery bank AH capacity? Some meters will give you state of charge and available AH left if you program in the battery bank details...

    Otherwise, just setting the correct charging voltage and such in the meter for your battery brand/model is where you start. Under charging batteries is a big cause of early life failures... Over charging can also damage batteries. Flooded Cell lead acid, AGM, GEL, Lithium Ion, etc. all have their different "proper" settings.

    Can you give us a link to the MT50 you have?
