Skybox Capabilities...

Going to expand my systems this summer and have the following question about the Skybox.
Can the Skybox be configured in a battery less mode while still be connected to the Grid (but NO export to the Grid, AEP goes out of its way to use fees, etc. to discourage net-metering...).  My initial setup would be a string array either 1200 watts at 360v to inverter or could parallel another string of 2KW also at 360v for 3.2 KW total.
What I would want the Skybox to do while the Grid is up is to combine power from the string(s) to the house mains and if panel output is not sufficient for the loads, use the Grid to supply the balance. Effectively giving me "Grid-Tie" without feeding back to the Grid.
The Outback docs. seem to infer that this can be done, but well...

Yes !  You still may need to get a permit! Not having one could be a reason for insurance to deny a claim.
