SMA Sunny Island with MidNite Classics networked via MODBUS/Canbus adaptor problem solved (I hope)

SMA contracted MidNite Solar to make and market a MODBUS/Canbus communications adaptor for Sunny Island to allow the Sunny Island to control the Classic charge controller as though it was the SMA DC-Coupled charge controllers that weren't UL listed and aren't sold in the USA. What isn't in the instructions (though I was rudely told last year when I called MidNite that EVERYTHING I needed to know about the Communications adaptor they sold me was in the included pamphlet - it wasn't) is that you must:
a) #225.01 change to NONE
b) #250.28 set to SMA
Not in anybody's documentation and believe me when I tell you the system doesn't work right otherwise

And the reason they are replacing it under warranty after 14 months of operation without these parameters set.
