Yes that's it.  Sounded like a good idea

It does sound neat... There are PH meters for batteries already, but they are not cheap.

Designing anything that sits in acid for years at a time--Takes a lot of engineering (reading through their website--That does sound like the issue--Glass is OK, but the cladding and other supporting structure sounds like lots of work).
