Does a ground/pole mount grid tie system require a NEC rapid shut down system?

The way I read the code chapter, since the PV array and wiring are not in a building, it does not apply.

    Only if you think your local first responders will be climbing on it to put out a fire on your house. The ultimate authority is your local building authority who can tell you which version of NEC they follow.
