Schneider 4024 Charger Popped

After a year+ working perfectly off grid, I messed up and left equipment on draining my battery banks, so I turn on the Grid to charge the battery banks with the 4024 charger.  The battery banks charged beautifully, but when I turn off the AC Input, the inverter made a loud popping sound and a small amount of smoke came out of the unit.  Everything is working fine as usual and already started the warranty request, but would like to know if this happened to somebody else.....
