Trojan SIND's anybody? ("industrial solar batteries")
Hi,
Just checking out there to see if anybody uses the Trojan SIND line of batteries. Specifically the 'lightest' one....

What has been your experience? Too heavy? How has charging been? How long have you had your bank? Are they thirsty?🙂

Hi SUrfpath,
Have not yet used Trojan IND batteries.
A number of years ago a Member here -- NorthGuy bought and ran an off-grid bank of these. He seemed to have a LOT of trouble getting them fully-charged -- not reaching rated SGs with recommended charge voltages. That member has not been here, for many years (IIRC). That system was in Ontario (somewhere in Canada, anyway), perhaps the cool Winter temps had some effect on this, particularly in EQing. At the time, they were a new product for Trojan..

YES, Vanilla Forum software, Just inserted the Link, which looked fine, until Enter was pressed, and then the Link changed from the standard real Link in blue, to the above. Always do love startling results when trying to make a "Post" ... Hope that that Link works ...
Would note, that these batteries need a very high EQ voltage -- 32.4/64.8 volts for 24/48 V banks. Some Inverters might NOT like this, and HVD. Especially, if one Temperature Compensated the Veq in a cool/cold environment.
Believe that in general, this IND battery line have somewhat thicker, but fewer plates. This can be good for DEEP discharges (if one can recharge them fairly quickly), but can result in a bit more battery voltage sag with large Surge currents, compared to some other Flooded Deep Cycle batteries.

Vic,
Your link did post correctly. The scraped data from where the link was pointing, is populated in the Link Block Quote (or whatever it is called).
If you don't want the LBQ, you can "backspace" through the quote to delete it... Hit enter a couple of times to give you some blank lines, and just paste the link you want and use a down arrow or mouse down to not trigger the LBQ function.
I am not sure I like this function... But the paste link into a blank line and avoiding hitting enter is the quick way around the function.
I will post this as an "interesting result" -- And let the software folks decide what to do.

OK Bill, as always, thanks again for the info on getting around this. Vic
