I was looking at an article in Solar Power World and saw this interesting article. New 3D shaped silicon wafer. The 3D design in the same foot print of a 72 cell panel will produce 600 watts and will have a 33% efficiency. They will be manufactured here in the USA starting in late 2019.The second company will be manufacturing panels here in the USA

    Seems the encapsulation process would be tricky. Pull too much vacuum and you get crunched cells.  Maybe why they haven't got a prototype panel yet.
     I wish them much luck. The world needs  a new, revolutionary solar panel at a competitive price.

    2.1 Kw Suntech 175 mono, Classic 200, Trace SW 4024 ( 15 years old  but brand new out of sealed factory box Jan. 2015), Bogart Tri-metric,  460 Ah. 24 volt LiFePo4 battery bank. Plenty of Baja Sea of Cortez sunshine.
