Solar Edge Optimizers & Home Runs

Just starting the install of my first system for my new house.  As I understand it, Solar Edge optimizers restrict output from the module to 1v and a few hundred mA, until activated by the inverter and the grid. Does this eliminate the need to wait to plug in the home runs last?  Seems like it you could just go ahead and connect them along with everything else in this kind of system.  Is that right?  I'm running 2 strings of 17 modules.

    WHat are you calling a home run, the DC wires or the AC wires

    The DC conductors coming from each string to the inverter.

    They are save to handle, I covered my bare wire ends with tape just in case.  The optimizer will not allow panel power past it to the DC conductors
