I heard some CC have to be connected to panels to change the firmware....others only need to have a battery connected. 
Does the KID need panels?????If its just a battery do you have to reset up things if your just using a 12 volt for a few minutes..??

    Hi ws..,

    You do not need any PV input on the KID to do the Firmware Update.   My KID is down one or two Revs in FW ...   Have never needed to do a Restore to Factory Defaults on a KID before,   believe that if a Restore was needed,  you could see that fact on the MN Software page for KIDs.

    Should,  generally be just a Drag & Drop the new FW onto the KID Icon ...   will try to look for any notes for the latest KID FW.
