Resources for learning about solar and alternative energy

Can anybody recommend any good books, DVDs, or websites to learn about solar, wind, batteries, water pumping, relays, diversion, etc.

I like to know why and how components fit into the systems so that I can better troubleshoot and do designing and installations.

What I have learned so far has pretty much all been from this forum. 

I have been living off grid for about 6 years now and am getting ready to install a solar well pump. I am also going to be getting my General Engineering Contractors License and I am wanting to get into solar installation.
