DIY Wind Turbine New Here

Hey guys,

I am new here and I recently stumbled onto this forum while looking for information on my DIY project. I am currently doing a little college project that involves building a wind turbine. I am fairly new to this so please bare with me if I ask stupid questions. The scope of the project is to build a wind turbine using existing materials As of now we are using a treadmill motor and plan to utilize a bike to fabricate a frame. For our blade set up we are going with some PVC pipping because they are cheap and easy to work with.
Now my first question is regarding blade size and dimensions. Does anyone have any idea on where to start with approximately 23 MPH max? Again we are using PVC piping so any input helps a lot.
