I don't see why not. I don't know about this outfit, but the concept has merit in my opinion. Glass can be manufactured to be as tough as steel. And don't they already have a driveway done with the panels? It's TRON come to life.

here is a quote from a link in a previous thread:http://forum.solar-electric.com/forum/solar-news-automatic-feed/solar-energy-news-rss-feed/22346-what-if-roads-were-made-of-solar-pv-panelsThe company's nascent success isn't without its detractors. According to The Verge, some experts believe that replacing the road network with solar panels isn't economically feasible, and the company's promises are too vague. The country can barely keep the current infrastructure funded, let alone replace it with an unproven solution. Also, Solar Roadways lost out on funding from major tech investors like GE and Google and GigaOM's Katie Fehrenbacher says that we should be focusing on putting solar on rooftops before roads, anyway. Time will tell.
that was in this other post http://www.autoblog.com/2014/06/02/solar-roadways-1million-indiegogo-video/#image-11

Thanks for the heads up -
Finnland just done a 70 meter( about 240 feet) bicycle path with the cost of 3.3 million dollars.
It is not a cheap undertaking and the taxpayers would have to pay for it. -
Yea the family that is working hard to make them more delicate and draw power for a job paint could do is a joke. But the Finnland ones were standard solar panels put into the road. That actually has a chance.

If people want to cover their own driveways with this crap, thats one thing. To put the general public at electrical safety risks that's another thing.
