Z-bracket mounting with Solarworld panel

Is the SolarWorld Sunmodule 240 Watt Monocrystalline With Black Frame easy to be mounted with z-brackets on shingles roof? I want to replace my Grape panel with this one but I can't see the frame of the solarworld with its mounting holes. I don't have any rail so z-braket such as this one is my only option. http://www.amazon.com/Solar-Panel-Mount-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B00NEZ8CJO/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1414164473&sr=8-10&keywords=z+bracket

Thanks.

    Hi SC,

If the SW 240 has the 2.0 frame design, it is designed for Top-Down mounting, with clamps. 2.5 frames have mounting holes, AND can accommodate Top-Down, as well.

Here is a data sheet for the SW 240, showing both the 2.0 and the 2.5 frame details:

Z brackets may not be the absolute best way to mount PVs, but many people do use them with success. One issue with them is that they usually do not space the PV above the roof more than an inch or so. Mounting PVs at about six inches above the roof allows them to run at lower temperatures, which gives a bit more power output.

    FWIW, YMMV Vic

Thanks Vic, especially for the tip of giving more clearance to PV above the roof. I'll probably replace z-brackets next time I add more panels.
