Oh ya, thousands of people do it. Land without water is very cheap in Arizona, and the money you save on the land can pay for a really nice solar system etc. Hauling water gets real old, real quick though. Want to know where the water can be found in Arizona? Just look at where the people are. Lots and lots of empty land out there between the cities with no water. If the utility's Solano CSP solar plant proves to be successful, Arizona could power the country with cheap land baked with sunshine.
