FLEXmax 80

OutBack sent some literature to me about the new FLEXmax 80 charge controller.

What really caught my attention was their claim of increasing PV Array Output by up to 30%. I like that! They offer a 5 year warranty.

Switch out my MX60s' for two new FLEXmax 80s'? Reading the specifications on the back of the literature, I'm just not savvy enough to know if these units would justify the replacing the MX60s'.

For my fixed array system, what do you guys think?

    The 30% claim is over a pwm controller NOT a true mppt controller like your MX60's. I think best case you looking at maybe 5% maximum in harvest increase from a MX60 ( dynamic tracking on the Flexmax vs sweep based mppt on the MX60 ) and typically even less difference

    I'd just stick with the MX60's unless you need to expand

    No plans to expand. Will stay with what I've got.
