The shading is there to keep the sun from hurting the solar panel's eyes.

that is a take off on this statement: Only in Canada, eh? ... Pity. 8) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAtDXOnmqiM
and that should end with 'Eh?' to be grammatically correct...http://members.shaw.ca/kcic1/canisms.html :-)

    But, I'm not a Canadian. :D

I know. People "steal" similar sayings and use them in all of these countries in SE Asia - "Land of Smiles", "Only in ___________", "Welcome to __________" (most often meant in a sarcastic tone), etc., etc., etc.

But, in all my travels all over SE Asia, Cambodia has won for being the most screwed up, backward country of the lot. In some areas, it's still kind of the "old west", even. Until one has visited, or lived in SE Asia, they simply do not believe much of what happens here. Personally, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Yes, wonderful people in SE Asia. Spent a bit of time in Udon Thani when the wife was there with Canadian Nursing Students on an exchange program. Sure didn't see much change, other than language, bustle bustle bustle, when we went over to Laos. Man the Mekong river is huge at the Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge.

I bet the sign went in after the solar.

Because the sign is screwed into and tied onto the railing, a strong gust of wind ought to clear it away.
