National Solar Tour in my area pretty lame

Not sure why, but the available tours in my area were pretty sparse this year. Mostly architects showing off their latest project in hope of getting more work or equipment suppliers with their latest equipment on show. In general there wasnt even much up front promotion to get folks to sign up their homes and even less local promotion. Maybe its case that these showcases are no longer needed?
