Updating an older system

My neighbour has asked me to help revise his older system, take out a DR and SW and put in a Outback FLEXware with two VFX2812's. Now the older system is run through an APT Powercenter with each inverter being on its own T-400 amp fuse....no big breakers in the system now and he does not what to let go of the APT Powercenter just yet. Would I be correct in thinking that I can just run from the T-400 fues to the 250amp breakers in the FLEXware DC, giving added protection to the inverters by also incorporating the fuse's in the system?

Re: Updating an older system
With the update, why not try to go to a higher voltage with the array and batt bank.
He would be able to run a single larger inverter like a XW or magnum, save some money and get a better CC!
I bet there will be some picked up eff from less current and voltage closer to output...
