Has anyone had any personal experience with the Solarland SLP090F-12S RV/Marine folding panel kit? If so what are your observations?
It is manufactured by Solarland Ltd in Wuki Jiangsu, Peoples Republic of China. It appears that they have put two of their SLP4-12 panels in parallel giving the 90 watt rating. It comes with an aluminum carrying case for transportation and various attachments for the battery. The web prices range from $390.00 to over $600.00 depending on where it is available. I can’t find any real information on the controller other than it is a 3 stage PWM 7 amp controller. A 16.4 foot Extension cable with battery clamps and car cigarette style connector is standard but there is no mention on the wire gauge. Also there is no mention of bypass diodes anywhere that I can find. They do make an 8 amp controller for $19.95 that is listed on several web sites. The controller on the kit appears not to have the same case as the stand alone controllers, but could be the same.
The following is from their website:
Specifications
SOLARLAND 45W/12V Polycrystalline Silicon Solar Module. Use quality brand solar cells directly imported from Germany.
Panel Size: 594*670*35mm
No. of cells and connections: 36(4×9)
Peak Power(wp): 45W
Open Voltage(voc):21.6V
Max.Power Voltage(Vmp): 17.2V
Short Ciruit Current(Isc):2.92A
Max. power Current(Imp):2.62A
Power Allowance Range:+/-5%
Max.System Voltage:600V
All data at standard test condition:
AM=1.5 E=1000W/M2 Tc=25
Thanks!
Keith

Re: Solarland SLP090F-12S
We used their 80w folding panel for almost two years. Ran our Engel fridge/freezer when we didn't have electric. It's a bit heavy, but it worked well. However, the case is not all that much support, and the panel folds so that the glass is on the outside. As a result, once we put solar on our trailer, we rarely used it, and somehow one of the glass panels broke. So now we have one 40w panel and all they want to do is sell us a discounted 90 w when what we really want to do is either replace one panel or rewire it. Warranty is one year.
