Does anyone know how much electricity the Takagi t-kjr2 in propane model uses? Standby can have switch? full bore? I live where the heater must come on how much there? At what temperture does the heater come on? Will it work with a modified sine wave inverter?
Thank you if you have any of this information.

Re: Takagi T-kjr2 propane electric use
A TK JR uses ~4 watts o n stand by, ~40 while firing. I believe the heater element comes on at ~35f. (From a Kill-a-watt)
install a shut off, or unplug it when you don't need it, so the stand by power is eliminated.
I love the ones I have installed, but I also like the new Rinnais a lot.

Re: Takagi T-kjr2 propane electric use
We have a TKjr. and just eat the standby losses. I thought it used more like 10 watts, but I haven't measured it in years. It would be a pretty large PITA to run into the bedroom closet and back to the bathroom and back again every time we wanted hot water. Our heater never comes on because we have the thing on an interior wall with the vent flapper kit to keep the cold air out. Been six trouble free years, though it will error a 21 code once in a while if we use it when the water pressure is low.
