Just found this - about the size of a small window A/C, low power consumption, mounts outside. Not nearly the same great BTU per watt ratio as the best mini-splits, but still might be an option for some so thought I would pass this along.

It looks like a window unit with ducting on it,, sort of the inverse of an indoor portable. My guess is that on a per BTU basis, a good window unit will be more efficient and way cheaper.

2500 BTUs cooling 1800 heating, all while drawing 4.4 amps.

A cheap window unit can be had for under $100, put out 5000 BTUs and start and run on a Honda EU1000 genny.

Not to mention at ~3 BTUs/watt resistance heating, you could get ~2400 BTUs out of a simple electiric heater.

The specs are a bit better overall for the bigger unit. One advantage of this over a window unit is it only needs 2 three-inch holes instead of one big one.

I don't know, but call me a skeptic, take a window shaker, put in in a different cabinet, run two pieces of pipe, and curve 4 times as much. I would think carefully.
