Seeking to expand system...

Presently I have a 500 amp shunt installed with a Heart Interface 2000 watt inverter. Seldom used. Question is; I want to add a couple of meters. Namely the Tri-Metric. Can I tap into the same shunt, or do I need to purchase a separate shunt for each meter I want to install?

    Good question... Two more:

    1) Isolation: common grounds between meters should not be a problem--but if the meter cases/electricals are not isolated at the meter head (make common only at the shunt/battery and keep meter grounds/power separate back to the meters)--You could get some errors in shunt readings.

    2) Meter Resistance: I am guessing that these meters are measuring "voltage" and not carrying much current themselves (100,000 - several million Ohms?). If you install one meter, get a stable reading from the shunt (charging/discharging) and connect the second meter--The the reading on the first meter jump?

    3) 500 Amp Shunt: Does each meter have a shunt calibration/adjustment?
