I received an email from the NA Victron rep saying that they will be introducing a 110V version to North America this year.
Specs on this model are rather impressive:
5W no load draw , 2 W in search mode, 93% efficiency rating, High input V of 34.0 V, low of 18.4

Looking for info from anyone using the 230V version as to quality or any little quirks.

thanks
Eric

In my opinion Victron inverters are possible the best in the world. A1000 w Victron will in most cases start motors and difficult loads better than most 2000 w inverters from other well know manufacturers. BUT they are by comparison fairly expensive.BUT you do get what you pay for.

thanks John. I had noticed the ~ 2x price differential based on the W rating. Only one so far comes close in no load W draw.

I don't have any personal experience with the Victron's, but know from other solar forums that users swear by them. Some Spanish installers deal exclusively with them for off-grid use, and simply won't touch any other inverters. More than a few people have raved about how good the support out of their netherlands headquarters is.
As for quirks, the only thing I can think of is that you should buy the PC connection cable to use their free configuration software, else you can't set a lot of the more advanced options.
If I hadn't got such a good deal on the Sunny Island when doing my install, I would have got the Victron Multiplus.

Response from Victron NA: 110 V 24/800 should be available here end of April 2012, no price mentioned.

NOte Victron web price list shows Euro availability March 2012
