Trojan 8D-AGM 12V

Anyone using, or have experience with, the Trojan 8D-AGM 12V battery? I can get them from a distributor about 2 hours away for $439.95, plus tax. This is the cheapest I have seen the 8D series batteries from any manufacturer. I know, the Flooded cells are cheaper, but my battery bank is in the garage. It is a small garage (36' x 26') so I want to use the agm's to prevent gas buildup. This system will either replace the Optima agm's, or make a 24v system to charge the Optima's through the Morningstar MPPT 15L.

Trojan is obviously well known and respected for their flooded cell batteries, but I have yet to find anyone who has been happy with their Chinese built AGM's. Also notice that you don't see them promoting them real heavily.

Ask to see their DOD vs. Cycles data - I believe that it's similar to a Deka AGM. At the right price they may be a good choice for your particular situation. Be sure you understand the date code when you buy batteries for a low price.
