thoughts or opinions about sunmaxx training

I am not sure if this is the best place to post this so excuse me if it belongs in another forum.
Last year I assisted in installing and programming my 2.7k PV array with battery back up and 12 K generator. I really enjoyed the work and the small bit of help I got from the gurus on this forum was very useful. Now we will be installing a solar thermal system some time next spring, to heat a few rooms and help with the water heater loads as well.
My question is, is any one familiar with the training that sunmaxx is offering in regards to solar thermal? I have been very interested in this market (solar thermal) for some time and figure that even If I do nothing with the training as far as going in to any type of employment, it will still help aid in the install of my own system. Also since this class is offered in Colorado it makes it not to far of a journey from here in Iowa.
So I guess after reading through my rambling I got two questions.
One-why don't we hear a lot about solar thermal (is it just to regional)?
Two- Is the fact that there classes are IREC accredited and NABCEP accredited enough to make it worth it?
Thanks
