best landscaping fabric for laying down under ground mount system?

I'm going to use that woven black plastic that is used for silt fences in construction, with some metal ground staples. it seems to last a lot longer than black plastic or landscaping weed cloth.

but I've never done it before is there a better thing to use to prevent weeds from growing up and shading my ground mount?

    The best is to use the landscaping cloth and then cover it with mulch to protect it. It should last years with 4" of fairly fine mulch on top.
