Tracking the sun throughout the day

This site is awesome, good info here, I'm a bit of a tinkerer,
always building, or modifying something to make things easier or better,
and this site is full of good ideas.

Right now, I have my solar array pole mounted, and I manually turn
the pole throughout the day, probably only a few times through the day,
but enough to keep the panels looking at the sun. I have a way of controlling
and making it automated, but I am looking for ideas on how to actually turn
the pole, the positioner I guess you could call it. The pole turns very easy so
the positioner would not really have to be very strong or powerful. I thought
of using a small winch with cables and pulleys to rotate the pole, but I'd like to
see what other people are using.
