Charge controller noise in only 1 channel of tape player?

I am grateful that I can listen to at least 1 channel of my cassette tapes. The Radio side is fairly clear of static. The boom box is old, only used on Sundays by a little old lady to catch the Church Channel
Seriously, it was rarely used, but now sits 5 feet away from the Morningstar CC. Would running it off of internal batteries clear up the static? I don't actually have 6 D cell batteries on hand, wish I could run it off of 12 V. Thanks

you might try an lm7809 regulator ic to reduce and regulate the 12v+ with associated input/output caps down to 9v. or put about 6 to 8 1a diodes in series and place it on the + lead to the radio with a fuse of course for either method.
